Is this your first time speaking at a TEDx event? What are your thoughts on presenting on October 17h?

Yes, it’s my first TEDx speaking engagement. I’m really looking forward to being part of this group of speakers; I consider it a great honor.

At the end of the day, what is it about your work that keeps you going?

I am motivated strongly by a desire to understand the world around me and to solve the puzzles or problems that present themselves.

What keeps you centered in this crazy world?

My family.

What is one place you’ve visited that you’ll never forget?

Prague. It was amazing on so many different levels: I loved the architecture which managed to escape destruction during the Second World War, I was romanced by the people and their determination to rebuild their economy, the Jewish ghetto was heart-wrenching, and the art and culture were beautiful.

What are three words to best describe you?

I am an observer; I like to continually try new things; and I love sunshine.

We still have some early bird tickets to hear Shannon and the other presenters illuminate Atlanta this year on October 17th!
