Eloisa Klementich, economic developer

Eloisa Klementich is president and CEO of Invest Atlanta, a position she assumed in January 2016 after serving as the organization’s director of business development. At Invest Atlanta, Klementich has implemented strategies for job growth programs and partnerships and led efforts to recruit businesses to invest in or relocate to the City of Atlanta. When Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed announced her appointment to CEO of Invest Atlanta, he said that, “over the past four years, Dr. Klementich has been involved in nearly every economic development win for our city,” and was responsible for bringing thousands of new jobs to the city.

Previously, Klementich served as special assistant for economic development at the U.S. Economic Development Administration in the Office of the Secretary, and as deputy secretary for Economic Development and Commerce in the State of California. She has held roles with city governments, such as consultant to Mexico’s President Vicente Fox on best practices for addressing constituent issues and requests.

As an economic development expert, Klementich has significant experience in creating and capitalizing on networks to notably increase the success of targeted initiatives for job growth and business expansion, investment and relocation. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Pitzer College and a master’s degree in business administration from el Instituto Tecnologico de Monterrey. She also earned master’s degrees in urban planning and Latin American affairs from the University of California, Los Angeles, and received her doctorate degree in public administration from the University of LaVerne.
