Calling Atlanta performers! Are you in, or know of, a band, vocalist, dance troupe or a combination of sorts? We’re hosting our very first open audition to find exciting talent to round out this year’s TEDxPeachtree experience. This is an incredible opportunity to perform in front of some 500-strong passionate, engaged and curious-minded attendees. At this year’s conference, TEDxPeachtree will be exploring the theme “Catalyze,” so we are looking for performers who will take us on a journey on interpretation.

Previous performers have been actors, rappers, singers, poets and dancers of all types, and this year will be no different as we look for the most imaginative and innovative talent that the Atlanta art scene has to offer. Genre-defying acts are particularly welcome.

We are holding an open call audition to fill two performance spots for this year’s conference on Saturday, September 7^th from 10am to 5pm at the Laughing Skull Comedy Lounge on Peachtree Street. Performers will need to sign up in advance.

In true community-style, performers will have 60 seconds to present to a panel of judges during the audition, after which the judge will select finalists for an online community vote beginning September 8th at www.tedxpeachtree.com

The two leading finalists will win a place on the TEDxPeachtree 2013 stage on November 8th at the historic Buckhead Theatre.

TEDxPeachtree 2013 will be held Friday, November 8 at The Buckhead Theatre. The day-long immersive experience is designed to inform, inspire and invigorate. Curated around the theme “Catalyze”, the programming will feature six-to-18-minute presentations by local, regional and national change agents. In the spirit of TEDx, presenters and performers will hail from a broad spectrum of disciplines and art forms–but all are required to fit within the theme.
